I’m Melanie, a professional chemist by trade and an artist by instinct. By day, I work in analytical science, where structure, accuracy, and method matter. By night, I paint with intuition, texture, and emotion, often letting materials behave in ways they were never instructed to.

My creative journey began early, paused for practicality, and resurfaced with urgency later in life. Art became both rebellion and refuge, a way to process memory, change, and survival. I work primarily on canvas, often using unconventional materials and techniques, embracing imperfection and movement over rigid form.

Science taught me how things behave. Art lets me ask what happens when they don’t.
